On Friday night, August 22, the Lady Wolverines traveled to Bloomfield for a hard-fought conference matchup, and they wasted no time setting the tone. Maddy Settles came out on fire, scoring the first two goals of the night to give the Wolverines a 2–0 lead. The game was physical from the start, with aggressive play on the field and an atmosphere in the stands that had fans buzzing. Early in the second half, Bloomfield struck quickly to cut the score to 2–1. That goal only fueled the Wolverines’ determination. Anchored by the defensive toughness of Kylan Lundy and Amira Gillum, the Wolverines clamped down and refused to allow any more opportunities. Meanwhile, Settles proved unstoppable. Living up to her nickname, “The Machine” found the back of the net again and again, finishing with an incredible five goals on the night. Her relentless scoring lifted the Wolverines to a convincing 5–1 victory.
